The San Francisco-based Goldman Environmental Foundation has announced the winners of this year's Goldman Environmental Prizes, the world's largest prize program honoring grassroots environmentalists. Goldman Prizes, which come with a stipend of $125,000, are awarded annually to activists from six continental regions. This year's winners are Eug�ne Rutagarama (Africa), Yosepha Alomang (Asia), Myrsini Malakou & Giorgos Catsadorakis (Europe), Jane Akre & Steve Wilson (North America), Oscar Olivera (South/Central America), and Bruno Van Peteghem (the Island Nations).
