The National Rural Funders Collaborative, a newly launched collective of seven U.S. foundations that works to build partnerships with public and private funders to reinvest in and revitalize rural American communities, has issued a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for its inaugural round of funding. NRFC is interested in joining with existing efforts that tackle deeply embedded issues in a comprehensive way, have the potential to elevate policy issues at the local, state and federal levels, and are poised to capitalize on a unique opportunity for leveraging resources and expanding their impact. Proposals must come from one or more area funders and must include community practitioners and leaders as full partners. Coalitions wishing to submit a proposal should submit a two- to three-page letter of intent no later than September 30, 2001. For details and/or to download the complete RFQ, visit: http://www.nrfc.org/rfq/index.htm.
