NYLPI Nonprofit Toolkit

A toolkit from New York Lawyers for the Public interest, a civil rights advocacy organization, provides essential legal information for newly launched and established nonprofits, as well as those still in development. The NYLPI Nonprofit Toolkit offers PDF guides on topics such as commercial leases during COVID-19, contracts issues during COVID-19, and what to do when your workforce is working from home. Part of NYLPI's effort to support and strengthen small to midsize nonprofits, especially those serving Black, Indigenous, or People of Color (BIPOC) or that are led by Black, Indigenous, or People of Color, the toolkit also includes guides on more general topics such as considerations for and best practices in nonprofit formation, fiscal sponsorship, working with pro bono counsel, intellectual property, advocacy and lobbying, labor and employment, and social enterprise formation.
