Substance Abuse: The Nation's Number One Health Problem

Substance Abuse

The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation has launched an online resource center devoted to substance abuse. Designed for policy makers, community leaders, treatment professionals, educators, researchers, the media, and others with an interest in substance abuse issues, the site includes data and reports from the foundation's national program offices, grantees, and other sources; the latest edition of the benchmarking study Substance Abuse: The Nation's Number One Health Problem; case studies from RWJF-funded programs; and annotated links to more than 100 Web-based substance abuse resources. The site joins two other online resource centers already offered by the foundation:, a call-to-action campaign to improve care at the end of life, and Chronic Conditions, which provides information about the problems associated with chronic health conditions and possible solutions.
