Job Summary

JOB PURPOSE

The Director of Engagement and Enrollment will manage all aspects of program engagement and enrollment including enrollment strategies and intake processes for early childhood programs. The Director will ensure enrollment meets capacity and monitor trends and patterns to meet the needs of community. The Director will oversee community efforts for engagement, marketing, partnerships and communications; ensuring our ECE program brand is widely exposed and engagement strategies are successful. The Director will also manage the successful progression of alumnae to elementary schools and school-based partnerships.

SCOPE OF INFLUENCE

  • Identify and implement engagement strategies for intake, enrollment and program participation
  • Create and execute marketing, outreach and recruitment strategies
  • Promote enrollment in all ECE programs
  • Ensure successful progression of graduating families to community schools
  • Maintain partnerships and community relations for program exposure
  • Develop and supervise a team of Family Communication Coordinators including an Elementary School Family Advocate

Responsibilities

Engagement, Outreach & Recruitment and Professional Development

  • Assess needs of engagement and create strategies to strengthen and promote efforts
  • Evaluate needs of enrollment and  create plans to maintain enrollment capacity
  • Assess intake processes and create plans for improvement of seamless systems
  • Analyze outreach and recruitment and marketing efforts and create strategies to increase program exposure
  • Develop high-quality marketing materials and communications for program exposure and branding
  • Evaluate impact of strategies and successful outcomes of engagement, marketing and communications
  • Provide Professional Development to ECE partners and staff to promote engagement strategies
  • Oversee intake process, wait-lists, systems and maintenance in databases
  • Manage school-based partnerships, and NYC DOE relations for alumnae and UPK partnerships

Supervision and Support of Family Communication Coordinators and Elementary School Family Advocate

  • Provide oversight, guidance and support to both Family Communication Coordinators and Elementary School Family Advocate
  • Work collaboratively with ECE partners to ensure consistency in communication with families
  • Work to build report and collaboration between Family Communication Coordinators, Mobility Mentors, Teaching Staff, and Leadership

Other

  • Maintain awareness of the philosophy and goals of the program in order to promote efficiency of program enrollment, family engagement and participation and program visibility
  • Cultivate collaborative and professional relationships with colleagues
  • Be present at team meetings as assigned and demonstrate willingness to incorporate new ideas and strategies to meet program standards and goals in line with best practices
  • Attend professional development opportunities both internal and external and deliver updated information to peers and colleagues as assigned
  • Participate in staff meetings, program enrichment and other program events as assigned
  • Model professionalism including integrity, ethical conduct and decision making
  • Observe strict confidentiality practices
  • Adhere to Educational Alliance policies and procedures; comply with required documentation and record keeping responsibilities Social Services unit
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

Required Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications/Marketing or related field (Master’s degree preferred)
  • Strong skills in digital and visual marketing
  • Excellent communication, public relations and community engagement skills
  • 3 or more years of supervisory experience
  • Experience and passion for managing high-performing teams, including employee recruitment, development, retention, and evaluation
  • Bilingual (preferred) English/Chinese(Mandarin or Cantonese)  or English/Spanish
  • Demonstrated knowledge of working with families of diverse socioeconomic backgrounds
  • Demonstrated knowledge of assessing and providing community resources to co-workers and families
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with building community partnerships
  • Knowledge and use of  MS Office Suite and advanced computer literacy
  • Knowledge of data entry and ability to learn and adapt to various computer systems
  • Strong document management and maintenance skills
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English
  • Strong oral and written communication with parents, children and co-workers
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. 
  • Actively participate in community and program events including evening, weekend hours
