Founded in 2011, Jessica Lang Dance is a New York City dance company dedicated to performing the works of Bessie-winning choreographer Jessica Lang. Our nine-member company tours to approximately 30 venues annually and we have a slate of related education and outreach programs.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Development Manager to join our small staff to collaborate with the administrative and artistic teams to secure contributed support from individual and institutional donors. Our overall operating budget is $1.3 million, with approximately half of this amount coming from contributions. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Development Manager will strategize, support and execute the full range of JLD's fundraising, including but not limited to: individual appeals; grant proposals and reporting; prospecting, cultivation and stewardship; special events; data entry and management.

The Development Manager will strategize, support and execute the full range of JLD's fundraising, including but not limited to: individual appeals; grant proposals and reporting; prospecting, cultivation and stewardship; special events; data entry and management.

Qualifications

Requirements: Demonstrated ability to work effectively and successfully in a development operation; team player who works flexibly and proactively with colleagues; strong writing and interpersonal skills; excellent computer skills and experience with fundraising software. A background in the arts and an understanding of New York City arts funding are helpful.
