The Manager of International Operations and Business Continuity has primary responsibility for coordinating the foundation’s international operations and business continuity functions across all of its geographies. This position reflects the recognized need to strategically improve the foundation’s effectiveness and efficiency through improved coordination of operational functions as well as the need to standardize business continuity planning globally. In addition to partnering with the Regional Directors and NY operational departments to provide operational oversight of the regional offices, the manager will be responsible for partnering with the Deputy COO to coordinate the foundation’s global safety and security function with a focus on coordinating response and decision-making in high risk situations.

International Operations Coordination
- Coordinate with NY operational departments (including but not limited to Finance, HR, Legal, IT and Comms) to support and follow-up on issues and solutions related to regional offices’ needs, providing timely and coordinated communications with regional offices and the Regional Director
- Provide high-level project management and oversight of the foundation’s international operations and priorities, ensuring alignment across regional offices
- Partner with Regional Directors and work closely with regional operational staff and NY operational departments to ensure efficiency in day-to-day operations in regional offices
- Partner with NY-based operations teams to monitor and review regional office operational effectiveness as a means for sharing best practices, learning new methods for efficient operations used in different regional offices, and findings are documented and shared
- Lead regular international operations meetings in partnership with NY operational departments and regional offices
- Support the transition and implementations of the functional assessments for regional offices (as needed)
- Other duties or projects as assigned
Business Continuity Management
- Maintain and improve foundation’s business continuity management system, ensuring plans, policies, standards, procedures and protocols are aligned to mitigate risks and prepare the foundation for potential business disruptions and emergencies
- Work closely with Travel Services and manage partnership with security service providers to monitor travel activities and ensure compliance with safety goals for all staff
- Provide ongoing safety and security monitoring and coordinate response and decision making for high risk situations by working with regional offices, leadership and other service providers
- Support the DCOO with reporting to the Risk Committee regarding the foundation’s business continuity program and activities including but not limited to safety and security and risk management
- Partner with Property Management Director and Facilities Director to coordinate NY security operations including but not limited to safety certifications, protocols, drills, and related training for the New York building, staff, and guests
- Determine and implement appropriate onboarding and ongoing training for leadership and staff (NY and Regional Offices), regarding safety and security; provide subject matter expertise, advise business continuity/ safety and security best practices
- A minimum of 10-years progressive work experience on complex cross-functional project or operational management in an international setting
- A baccalaureate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master’s preferred in the areas of business administration, non-profit management or a related field of study
- Strong expertise in operational planning, monitoring, and reporting with the ability to juggle multiple tasks, set priorities, effectively manage time, and meet deadlines
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong change management skills to promote collaboration and productivity, particularly during times of change
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal; able to convey information effectively to colleagues and partners in a cross-cultural environment
- Ability to remain flexible and adaptable
- Interest in business continuity, international security, travel and crisis risk management
- Exceptional people relationship building and partnering skills – strong, active listening capabilities
- Superb cultural awareness and sensitivity – demonstrated ability to work successfully across borders
- Ability to travel internationally, as needed
- Ability to work flexible hours or across time zones, as needed

Salary: Salary is based on experience and on the Foundation’s commitment to internal equity. A generous benefits package is provided.
- This position is primarily a sedentary role. However, the person in this position may need to occasionally move about inside the office to liaise with internal staff, access files, office machinery and a copy machine/printer. As stated above, the position involves significant travel.
