Job Summary
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Vice President, External Affairs will set the vision and strategy for Latinos for Education's external affairs functions including development, marketing, and communications.

Responsibilities
ROLE OVERVIEW
Development (50% )
- Design and implement an ambitious multi-year growth plan for Latinos for Education's revenue through philanthropy and earned revenue Pursue, cultivate, solicit, and stew ard a portfolio of individual and institutional donors
- Oversee development operations that drive efficiency, progress to goal reporting, and forecasting leveraging Salesforce
- Support Executive Directors and the CEO to drive donor identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship in their portfolios
- Oversee proposal and report writing and all other donor communications for the organization
Marketing and Communications (40% )
- Oversee successful creation and implementation of a marketing and communications plan in Massachusetts, Houston and nationally Increase Latinos for Education's brand positioning in the education sector and beyond
- Oversee successful management of PR firms and consultants to lead us to results
- Secure opportunities for Latinos for Education to elevate the organization as the national thought-leader on education issues impacting the Latino com m unity integrated with development and advocacy efforts
Strategic Partnerships and General Management (10% )
- Hire and manage a growing team to support external affairs functions
- Serve as a key Executive Team leader for the organization
- Pursue key partnerships to expand Latinos for Education’s impact
- Contribute to a positive organizational culture and participate in team meetings and retreats
THIS ROLE
- Will manage $ 500k in resources including three staff across functions
Qualifications
OUR PERSON
Required:
- 15+ years of professional experience
- Expertise in fundraising, marketing and communications
- Track record in setting and achieving ambitious goals Experience managing and building a team
- Ability to travel regularly
Preferred:
- 8+ years of management experience
- Speaks Spanish
Compensation
150,000-170,000 per year
