$10.5 Million Pledged to Wichita Center for the Arts for New Facility

The Wichita Center for the Arts has announced commitments totaling $10.5 million for the construction of a new arts center.

The Fred and Mary Koch Foundation has pledged $2 million and a $4 million challenge in support of the $14 million, 38,000-square-foot facility and to establish a scholarship fund for local students in need of financial aid to pursue arts education. In addition, the Charles Koch Foundation contributed seventeen acres of undeveloped land valued at $4.5 million.

"This is an incredible opportunity to take the Wichita Center for the Arts to the next level," said WCFTA executive director Katy Dorrah. "Our board is excited to move forward with a community-wide capital campaign to raise $8 million. We are optimistic we can achieve that goal and turn our vision for a new center into reality."
