The Aspen Institute has announced a $15 million endowment gift from trustee Lynda Resnick and her husband, Stewart, to ensure the continued operation of the Aspen Action Forum through 2030.
To be renamed the Resnick Aspen Action Forum in recognition of the gift, the annual forum brings together leaders from the United States and around the world who are committed to addressing pressing social issues, including many fellows of the Aspen Global Leadership Network. The five-day event, which is held in Aspen, Colorado, include workshops, roundtable discussions, and networking opportunities for participants, who are asked to make public "Action Pledges" signaling their willingness to tackle critical issues in their communities and around the globe.
"The Resnick Aspen Action Forum puts values-based leadership into action," said Aspen Institute president and CEO Walter Isaacson. "This generous endowment ensures that the Forum will continue to make a real and measurable impact on key global issues for years to come."
The Resnicks, co-owners of the Wonderful Company, have supported the forum since 2013. "This event is one of the few in the world that moves real change-makers from thought to action," said Lynda Resnick. "The outcomes of the Resnick Aspen Action Forum are tangible, and Stewart and I are excited to support it in this way."
