Boca Raton Hospital Receives $15 Million From Marcus Foundation

Boca Raton Regional Hospital has announced a $15 million gift from the Marcus Foundation to expand and renovate the Marcus Neuroscience Institute.

The gift to the hospital's $250 million fundraising campaign will help underwrite an expansion of the institute's clinical space, a streamlining of the neurological and neurosurgical care it offers, and the creation of an interventional radiology room. Established in 2012 with a $25 million gift from the Marcus Foundation, MNI features a comprehensive stroke center; a center for memory disorders and Alzheimer's disease; a center for movement disorders, including Parkinson's disease, epilepsy, and multiple sclerosis; and a center for neuro-oncology. Construction of a second biplane angiography suite is under way, with the suite expected to be operational later this year.

"No matter how big or small, giving back is critically important," said Home Depot co-founder and foundation chair Bernie Marcus. "At some point in your life, you or your family are going to need Boca Regional and you can play a role in making it better. You can be part of the game. You can be involved."
