Bush Presidential Center Receives $10 Million for Public Programs

The George W. Bush Presidential Center in Dallas has announced a $10 million endowment gift from Highland Capital Management in support of a series of public programs.

Highland, one of the center's founding benefactors, will become the presenting sponsor for Engage at the Bush Center, a program series that invites authors, thought leaders, and newsmakers for lectures and discussions. Through the gift, the investment firm also will sponsor various events held in conjunction with the Engage series, including an annual "Highland Capital Lecture."

"As an early supporter of the Bush Center, Highland Capital Management has helped make the center what it is today, and now through this major gift, Highland is making a special investment in its future," said the center's CEO, Kenneth Hersh. "We are extremely grateful to Jim Dondero for his commitment and look forward to continuing our efforts to bring thought-provoking programming and national newsmakers to Dallas."
