Calvin University Receives $22.25 Million to Launch School of Business

Calvin University, a private Christian university in Grand Rapids, Michigan, has announced a $22.25 million gift from an anonymous donor to establish the Calvin University School of Business.

The gift will underwrite construction of a building for the Calvin University School of Business as well as improvements to shared spaces in the DeVos Communication Center, to which the new school will be connected. The gift also will provide endowment funds in support of the new dean of the School of Business and to catalyze the creation of new academic programs. Construction is expected to begin in spring 2021.

"The purpose of business is to serve by providing goods and services, meeting human needs, and promoting human flourishing," said Calvin University president Michael Le Roy. "Our goal, and the donor's intent, is to advance business knowledge and skills on a Christian liberal arts foundation characteristic of Calvin's mission."
