CDP Awards $2.3 Million for COVID-19 Relief Efforts

The Center for Disaster Philanthropy has announced grants totaling more than $2.3 million in support of global COVID-19 relief and response efforts.

The fourth round of grants awarded from the CDP COVID-19 Response Fund will help build the capacity of organizations working to respond to the pandemic and address pressing needs among vulnerable populations. Recipients include the Action Aid/Feminist Humanitarian Network, which was awarded $500,000 in support of its efforts to provide public health education, distribute educational materials, hygiene kits, food, and cash, and support local women's rights organizations in Liberia, Bangladesh, Colombia, Zimbabwe, and Somaliland. 

Other grantees include BRAC ($250,000), Catholic Relief Services ($438,857), Child Care Aware ($250,000), the Emergent Fund ($75,000), the Norwegian Refugee Council ($250,000), the Points of Light Foundation ($250,000), the Restaurant Workers Community Foundation ($100,000), and World Central Kitchen ($250,000).

To date, CDP has awarded grants totaling more than $7 million to thirty organizations through the fund, which has received contributions from over thirty-three hundred donors.
