Children's Hospital Los Angeles has announced a $20 million pledge from Panda Cares, the philanthropic arm of Panda Express, in support of programs that provide physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual care for patients and their families.
The gift will establish the Panda Cares Center of Hope, a nationwide initiative launched in partnership with the Children's Miracle Network, and provide support for music and art therapy programs, palliative care, a reading program, social services, and grief and bereavement services. A longtime supporter of CHLA, Panda Restaurant Group has raised more than $17 million for the hospital since 2003.
"Panda Express is one of our largest and most benevolent corporate partners, and we are so grateful for their ongoing support [for] our mission to create hope and build healthier futures for children," said CHLA president and CEO Paul S. Viviano. "These are challenging times for many of the patient families we serve, and thanks to this significant commitment, we will be able to continue to provide programs and services that are more vital now than ever."
