In 1999, Cole's company, Cole National Corporation, which was based in Cleveland from 1944 to 2004, contributed $31 million to establish the Cole Eye Institute at Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. Jeff Cole serves on the boards of Safilo and Hilco, and Trisha Cole, who graduated from Bowling Green State University, was a social worker before pursuing her career as a jazz singer.
