The Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham has announced spring grants totaling more than $1.1 million to thirty organizations working to help people lead healthy lives and help children succeed in school. The grants were influenced by the findings of the foundation’s recently released EngAge report, which found that the percentage of people age 60 and older is rising at a rate faster than all other age cohorts in the state.
