The Community Foundation of Greater New Britain has announced scholarships totaling more than $200,000 to sixty-three students — the most ever awarded by the foundation in terms of number and total dollars. Most of the scholarships were awarded to students from the communities of Berlin, New Britain, Plainville, and Southington.
The Gulf Coast Community Foundation in Venice has announced scholarships totaling more than $513,000 to two hundred and forty-two students for the 2015-16 academic year. The largest distribution was from the Gulf Coast Community Foundation Scholarship Fund, which awarded a hundred and thirty scholarships totaling $214,800.
The Omaha Foundation has named John Levy as its new director of donor philanthropy and Anne Meysenburg as director of community investment. In addition, the foundation appointed Dana Bradford and Trent Demulling to its board of directors.
The Dayton Foundation has announced two grants of $5,000 each from the Greater Dayton Conservation Fund in support of environmental preservation programs. Established in 2006 in partnership with several local environmental organizations, the fund awarded grants to Friends of Aullwood and the Marianist Environmental Education Center.
The Vermont Community Foundation has announced "small and inspiring" grants totaling $57,435 in support of local projects across the state. Recipients include the Bristol Hub Teen Center, the Orwell Free Library, Abenaki Helping Abenaki, and the Young Writers Project.
The Oshkosh Area Community Foundation has announced that CEO Diane Abraham will resign her position effective October 9 to pursue new professional opportunities. Under her leadership, the foundation has increased its charitable assets under management from $87 million to $104 million, or 20 percent.
