The Denver-based Daniels Fund has announced that it awarded $58.8 million in grants and scholarships in 2019, boosting its total giving to more than $877.6 million since it was established in 2000.
Awards include $41 million in grants to nonprofit organizations in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming, as well as to select national organizations. Within the four-state region, the foundation also awarded a total of $17.8 million in scholarships through the Daniels Scholarship Program, which provides funds to deserving high school seniors, and the Boundless Opportunity Scholarship program, which helps participating colleges offer scholarships to non-traditional students.
"Our founder, Bill Daniels, created the Daniels Fund to give back to the communities that contributed to his success," said Daniels Fund president and CEO Linda Childears. "It was his hope that these grants and scholarships would help make life better for people across our four-state region."
