Dartmouth College $15 Million Gift From Alumnus

Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire, has announced a $15 million gift from alumnus Paul Raether (T'73, TP'03) and his family in support of scholarships at the Tuck School of Business.

The gift, which ties the record for the largest philanthropic donation ever given to the school, comes at the end of a year in which Tuck alumni have pledged or given $20 million for scholarship support. The funds will strengthen the school's ability to enroll outstanding students who otherwise might be unable to afford a Tuck education.

Longtime supporters of the school, the Raethers also have provided gifts for faculty endowments, facility upgrades, the annual giving campaign, and the Next Step: Transition to Business program for military veterans and elite athletes.

"This gift will have a tremendous impact on one of Tuck's most important strategic priorities: enrolling incoming students who aspire to wise leadership, and who will contribute to and thrive in Tuck's distinctly immersive learning community," said Luke Anthony Peña, the school's executive director of admissions and financial aid.
