Enterprise Foundation Announces Recipients of Awards for Excellence in Workforce Development

The Enterprise Foundation of Columbia, Maryland, has announced the winners of this year's Chase Manhattan Foundation Awards for Excellence in Workforce Development. The awards, which range from $2,500 to $25,000, honor organizations that are helping individuals formerly on welfare to obtain quality jobs and move out of poverty.

The top three awards went to New York City-based Wildcat Services Corporation, for its Private Industry Partnership program; Binding Together Inc., also from New York; and Jewish Vocational Services, in San Francisco.

The Enterprise Foundation instituted the annual program earlier this year to honor organizations for outstanding job placement and retention services for hard-to-serve populations. The program, which is funded by the Chase Manhattan Foundation, a part of the newly merged JPMorgan Chase, is open to community-based nonprofit organizations, housing authorities, and Native American tribes/tribally designated housing entities serving clients with low income and employment barriers.
