Enterprise Holdings Planted Another Million Trees in 2016

Enterprise Holdings has announced that, for the eleventh consecutive year, it logged a million tree plantings in 2016 as part of its Enterprise 50 Million Tree Pledge.

Launched in 2006 in partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation, the program's stated goal is to log a million tree plantings a year through 2056. Thanks to the program, young trees have been planted and are growing in Alabama, California, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, New Mexico, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, and Wyoming, as well as in Canada, France, Germany, Spain, and the United Kingdom. Highlights of the program in 2016 included the planting of 250,000 trees in Bastrop State Park in Texas; 200,000 trees planted in both Goethe and Etoniah Creek state forests in Florida, and another 200,000 planted in Lake Superior State Forest in Michigan; 100,000 trees planted in Lassen National Forest in California and the Woodland Trust in the United Kingdom; and 50,000 trees planted in Landes Forest in France.

"We are thrilled to be collaborating with the Arbor Day Foundation on such a long-term initiative, which has already reached eleven million plantings," said Enterprise Holdings Foundation president Jo Ann Taylor Kindle. "The Arbor Day Foundation's professional management helps ensure that our investment in global reforestation has the best success rate possible and leaves a lasting legacy for generations to come."
