The Ford Motor Company has announced a $2 million commitment to expand its efforts to fight hunger across New England.
Through the Ford Motor Company Fund and in partnership with Feeding America, the company will provide support, including vehicles, over five years to ten foodbanks in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, and Vermont. The company's expanded investments in the region are part of the Ford Fund's Operation Better World initiative, which supports greater collaboration among the fund, Ford dealers, and nonprofits with the goal of more effectively meeting community needs.
"More than 12 percent of those living in the New England area lack reliable access to the food and nutrition needed to thrive," said Jim Vella, president, Ford Motor Company Fund and Community Services. "As part of our commitment to the communities we serve, we are stepping up our efforts in the fight against hunger."
