The Giving Pledge has announced the addition of thirteen individuals and couples to its list of signatories, bringing to two hundred and sixteen the total number of those pledging to give the majority of their wealth in support of philanthropic causes.
New signatories include Expedia founder, Glassdoor co-founder, and Zillow co-founder and CEO Rich Barton and his wife, Sarah (United States); venture capitalist Ron Conway and his wife, Gayle (United States); Capula Investment Management managing partner and CIO Yan Huo and his wife, Xue Fang, trustees of the London-based Huo Family Foundation (United Kingdom); Farfetch founder José Ferreira Neves (Portugal); Paycom CEO Chad Richison (United States); and former Facebook vice president for infrastructure engineering Jeff Rothschild and his wife, Marieke (United States).
Signatories who joined earlier in the year or in late 2019 include Marcel and Cynda Collins Arsenault, William Gross, Gordon V. Hartman, Robert E. "Bob" and Dorothy "Dottie" King, Jim Pattison, Stephen A. Schwarzman, and David and Bonnie Weekley.
"The Giving Pledge is a simple proposal to the world's wealthiest: join us in giving away the majority of your resources to address society's most pressing problems," said Warren Buffett, who launched the campaign with Bill and Melinda Gates in 2010. "As we mark ten years of the pledge, I want to thank the more than two hundred individuals and families from twenty-four countries who have joined in this commitment to leave the world better than we found it."
