Jessie Ball duPont Fund Invests $1.5 Million in Clean Energy Projects

The Jessie Ball duPont Fund has announced a $1.5 million program-related investment to Richmond-based Virginia Community Capital in support of clean energy projects in the state.

The seven-year below-market rate loan to VCC, a community development financial institution, will support a variety of housing and community development projects across the state, including the development of solar farms, the installation of rooftop solar equipment on small business facilities, and the installation of larger solar projects at entities such as public schools.

"We know that organizations and businesses can strengthen their bottom line by reducing energy costs," said Jessie Ball duPont Fund president Sherry Magill. "These changes, though sometimes incremental, have cumulative long-term impact. We are happy to support Virginia Community Capital as it works to create a more efficient and cleaner energy network in Virginia."
