Jewish Federations of North America Launches COVID-19 Coalition

The Jewish Federations of North America has announced the launch of an emergency pandemic coalition to help the Jewish community respond to COVID-19.

Led by JFNA, the coalition comprises eight leading Jewish organizations, including BBYO, the Foundation for Jewish Camp, Hillel International, the JCC Association of North America, Moishe House, the Network of Jewish Human Service Agencies, and Prizmah: Center for Jewish Day Schools. The coalition's priorities will be to identify and share the challenges of short- and long-term service interruptions to the Jewish community; obtain both public and private financial aid to ensure that Jewish institutions can continue to provide critical services; leverage member organizations' resources to address the public health emergency; support Jewish professionals who have been impacted by layoffs; and share lessons learned as well as best practices.

"Working together and collectively we can achieve more than any one of us can do alone," said JFNA board chair Mark Wilf. "We are all being challenged by this crisis to sustain Jewish communal life in North America, and it is heartwarming to know we are empowering and supporting each other to sustain Jewish life and the work we all do to help others at this critical time."
