Kinder Foundation Awards $2.5 Million for Texas Cultural Heritage Center

The Nau Center for Texas Cultural Heritage has announced a $2.5 million capital campaign gift from the Kinder Foundation.

Envisioned as a regional gateway for visitors exploring the Texas Independence Trail and a popular field-trip destination for students and teachers in southeast Texas, the center will feature immersive and interactive exhibits related to the state's history and culture, as well as the Foley and Cohn homes, the only two remaining turn-of-the-century houses from Houston's Quality Hill neighborhood.

"The Nau Center is designed to support teachers, students, and learning," said Kinder Foundation co-founder and president Nancy Kinder. "We were inspired with the vision we saw in the early planning stages to engage teachers and educational experts to provide valuable input to ensure the center's experiential learning environment."
