Mandel Foundation Awards $5 Million to West Palm Beach Public Library Foundation

The Cleveland-based Mandel Foundation has announced a $5 million grant to the West Palm Beach Public Library Foundation to boost its endowment and fund innovative library programs.

The grant will help WPBLF expand the programs of the library, enhance its services, and strengthen its collections. The funding also will be used to build the capacity of WPBLF and create novel programs geared toward making the library more user-friendly and attractive to a more diverse set of constituents. In recognition of the gift, the library will be renamed the Mandel Public Library of West Palm Beach.

"A public library is a vital resource for every person — students, parents, jobseekers, budding authors, and entrepreneurs alike. It often serves as the center point of a community," said Mandel Foundation chair Morton L. Mandel. "We believe that the West Palm Beach Public Library is a world-class institution and a model for the modern public library. We are extremely pleased to be able to support this effort."
