Marin Community Foundation Awards $375,000 to Shoreline Unified School District

The Marin Community Foundation in Larkspur, California, has announced a $375,000 grant to the Shoreline Unified School District toward the construction of a $2.8 million multi-purpose gymnasium at West Marin School in Pt. Reyes Station.

The Shoreline Unified School District is a K-12 school district serving more than 730 students in the West Marin communities fringing Bodega and Tomales bays. The new gym will accommodate a range of activities for students and other local residents, including the programs of various sports associations, folk dancing, 4-H club activities, aerobics, programs for seniors, and community meetings.

"This project falls under the foundation's Community Facilities Partnership Initiative," said MCF president and CEO Thomas Peters. "And it is another example of how a thoughtfully designed facility can play a key role in bringing people together who have many varied interests and who come from many different backgrounds."
