Morehouse School of Medicine Receives $3 Million for Expansion

The Morehouse School of Medicine has announced a $3 million gift from the Robert W. Woodruff Foundation in support of a $24.6 million expansion of its facilities and course offerings.

The gift will be used to renovate classrooms at the school's Hugh Gloster Medical Education Building, add tech resources, and create multidisciplinary learning spaces. The funds also will allow the school to advance the completion of a recently announced student pavilion named in honor of Billye Suber Aaron.

"Enhancing our learning facilities will ensure that we are enabling these future doctors, researchers, and community health workers to strengthen Georgia health systems, improve access, and provide quality healthcare to those in need," said MSM president and dean Valerie Montgomery Rice. "We appreciate the confidence of the Robert W. Woodruff Foundation as we look to lead the creation and advancement of health equity for years to come."
