NeighborWorks America Awards $48 Million for Homeownership Assistance

NeighborWorks America has announced grants totaling $48 million to nineteen community development financial institutions (CDFIs) in support of efforts to increase low- and middle-income home ownership.

Awarded through the organization's Project Reinvest program, the grants will fund down payment assistance for seventeen loan funds and two credit unions in sixteen states. Recipients include the Appalachian Community Federal Credit Union in Gray, Tennessee; FINANTA in Philadelphia; Homewise, Inc. in Santa Fe, New Mexico; NeighborWorks Pocatello in Pocatello, Idaho; and the Self-Help Credit Union in Durham, North Carolina.
