Palisades Medical Center Receives $10 Million for Emergency Room

Hackensack Meridian Health Palisades Medical Center in North Bergen, New Jersey, has announced a $10 million gift from former board chair John C. Meditz in support of its emergency department.

The largest gift ever to the medical center will support improvements to and an expansion of its emergency department, with a focus on strengthening patient services and programs. In recognition of the gift, the main hospital building will be renamed the John C. Meditz Medical Pavilion.

Meditz was appointed to the Palisades Medical Center board of governors in 1997 and served as chair from 2009 until 2011. He also helped establish the Palisades Medical Center Foundation in 1999 and now chairs that board.

"I am committed to making a positive difference on behalf of Palisades Medical Center's patients and their families as the medical center expands even further through Hackensack Meridian Health, with groundbreaking initiatives, including the Center for Discovery and Innovation, to foster the emergence of medical breakthroughs," said Meditz. "It is my pleasure and privilege to do what I can to help."
