With support from GoDaddy — which was founded by Bob Parsons, a former Marine who served in Vietnam — the foundation, as part of its Double Down for Veterans campaign, will match donations of up to $10 million to the Semper Fi Fund through December 31. This is the fifth year the Parsons Foundation and GoDaddy have supported a matching campaign for Semper Fi, which provides resources and lifetime support for wounded, critically ill, and injured members of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families.
GoDaddy launched the campaign with an initial $50,000 donation. Through a separate initiative, the company has pledged to hire at least five hundred veterans, or their spouses, over the next five years.
"The work being done by Semper Fi Fund is providing ongoing, critical support for our country's veterans," said Parsons, who signed the Giving Pledge in 2013. "We have a duty to do whatever we can to give back to the men and women who have sacrificed so much in their service to our great nation."
