PNC Financial Services Commits $30 Million for COVID-19 Relief

PNC Financial Services Group has announced a $30 million commitment in support of COVID-19 relief efforts.

To be disbursed over the coming months, the funds will support efforts to help people with basic needs and hardship-relief programs in markets where the bank operates. Funding will be coordinated by the PNC Foundation, with each PNC regional bank president identifying grant opportunities in the areas of early education, food insecurity, and shelter. The commitment includes a recent $1 million grant made to the United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania to create a Students and Families Food Relief Fund, which will provide support for families in the region struggling with food insecurity.

"As a bank, we recognize our role as a pillar of the communities we serve, and we are actively working with those affected, providing a variety of solutions that make the most sense for meeting their particular needs," said PNC chairman, president, and CEO William S. Demchak. "Now more than ever, it is critical that we come together to support our customers and communities, and we are grateful to our employees for their continued commitment to doing just that."
