Rasmuson Foundation Awards $3.8 Million in Grants

The Anchorage-based Rasmuson Foundation has announced grants totaling $3.8 million to municipalities and nonprofits across Alaska.

The grants will provide support to organizations working to strengthen communities, celebrate the state's history, and assist seniors, children, and other vulnerable Alaskans. Recipients include the City of Dillingham, which was awarded $114,500 to make improvements to its senior center; the North Star Dance Foundation, which will receive $250,000 to remodel the Fairbanks Senior Center; and Covenant House Alaska, which was awarded $225,000 over three years to boost employment and educational opportunities for young people in Anchorage who are transitioning from the child welfare or juvenile justice systems or who are homeless.

The foundation also awarded grants to the Great Alaska Council, Boy Scouts of America, Museums Alaska, the Foraker Group, and the Alaska Community Foundation.
