Rochester Regional Health Receives $5 Million Gift for Learning Center

Rochester Regional Health in western New York State has announced a $5 million gift from the Wegman Family Charitable Foundation in support of patient care and capital improvements.

The gift to the Rochester Regional's s $300 million Because Care Matters campaign will support renovations to the hospital's Rochester Regional Health Learning Center, which provides advanced training opportunities and space for clinical and non-clinical staff through the Isabella Graham Hart School of Practical Nursing and its simulation and training laboratory. The center also is the home of Rochester Regional's electronic medical record training unit. In recognition of the gift, the center will be renamed the Wegman Center for Workforce Development at Rochester Regional Health. Renovations to the building will be completed in the fall.

"We are exceedingly grateful for the Wegman family's support of our mission," said Rochester Regional Health president and CEO Eric Bieber. "Renaming the center in their name is an opportunity for us to recognize their commitment to our community, while reinforcing our shared belief in the importance of workforce training for a healthier, more sustainable economy."
