UO Receives $6 Million to Support, Expand Educational Services

The University of Oregon in Eugene has announced a $6 million gift from the Quest Fund to endow a clinic at its College of Education.

The gift will establish a permanent endowment for the college's HEDCO Clinic, which houses UO's Speech-Language-Hearing Center and Center for Healthy Relationships and has provided low-cost educational services to the Eugene-Springfield community for six years. In addition to the endowment, the gift will support the clinic's plans to establish a center for the family-based treatment of autism and tutoring in reading and math.

"Our long-term vision is to expand the college's clinic and capabilities to become the educational and social-services equivalent of a modern teaching hospital," said UO president Michael Schill. "This very generous gift is a game-changing step toward achieving that goal."
