Valley Health Receives $35 Million for New Hospital in Paramus

Valley Health System has announced gifts totaling $35 million to the Valley Hospital Foundation for construction of a state-of-the-art hospital in Paramus, New Jersey.

The gifts, including $20 million from a longtime supporter who wishes to remain anonymous and $15 million from the Bolger Foundation, will support the construction of a hospital two and a half miles from Valley's current location in Ridgewood and directly across the street from the health system's comprehensive cancer and same-day-surgery centers. The new facility, which is expected to open in 2023, will be part of a comprehensive healthcare campus that includes same-day-surgery, oncology, and outpatient women's and children's services.

The new hospital, which has not yet been designed or approved for construction by the Borough of Paramus, is expected to include nearly four hundred beds, primarily in single-patient rooms to enhance patient privacy, safety, and comfort. The Ridgewood campus will be dedicated to a broad range of healthcare services, including urgent care and laboratory, radiology, and endoscopy services.

"With the help of these very generous gifts, Valley looks to build on its tradition of exceptional care and compassionate service by building a new, modern, state-of-the-art hospital," said Valley Health System president and CEO Audrey Meyers. "By incorporating a range of outpatient services, as well as the new hospital, our Paramus campus will serve as a convenient health and wellness destination for the area."
