Movember Foundation

Movember Foundation
Founded: 2004

To raise funds for and awareness of men's health issues.

About the Organization:
Launched in Australia in 2004, the annual Movember campaign encourages men to grow moustaches during the month of November — and ask friends and family to support their efforts — as a way to raise funds for men's health programs as well as public awareness of the health risks men face.

Current Programs:
Movember program goals include funding research to improve clinical tests and treatments for prostate or testicular cancer as well as overall physical and mental health outcomes for men; ensuring that men living with these types of cancer receive the medical and mental health care they need; and working to get help for and  prevent discrimination against men suffering from mental illness.

Web Site:
Visitors to the site can learn about men's health issues, programs funded by Movember, and how to get involved in the campaign. They can also register to participate in the moustache-growing campaign and/or browse a map or leaderboard of the number of top fundraisers by country, team, individual, or network; sign up for daily news updates; and/or make a donation  in support of the Movember organization or a specific individual or team.

Movember receives support from individuals, foundations, nonprofit organizations, and corporations.
