Kelly Brush Foundation Invites Applications From People With Spinal Cord Injuries for Adaptive Sports

The Kelly Brush Foundation is dedicated to making active lifestyles a reality for those who have experienced a spinal cord injury.

To that end, KBF is inviting applications for its Active Fund. Through the fund, the foundation will provide grants to individuals with paralysis caused by spinal cord injury for the purchase of adaptive sports equipment. Although the foundation gives preference to equipment that provides some fitness benefit, it will consider applications for power equipment where the applicant can persuasively explain why that type of equipment is the best and most appropriate piece of equipment for him/her to live an active lifestyle. Grants rarely exceed $5,000 and the average grant amount generally is around $2,500.

To be eligible, applicants must be an individual with paralysis caused by spinal cord injury who reside in the United States. Other conditions not eligible for KBF grant programs include but are not limited to spina bifida, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, post-polio, Guillain-BarreĀ“ Strohl Syndrome, ALS, all other neuropathies, and conditions causing disability.

See the Kelly Brush Foundation website for complete program guidelines and application instructions.
