The Bush Foundation is inviting applications for its Bush Fellowship Program.
The annual fellowship program celebrates visionary and innovative leaders in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, or one of the twenty-three Native nations that share the same geography.
Through the program, twenty-four fellows will receive flexible grants of $100,000 each over twelve to twenty-four months. Fellows can use the grant for activities that equip them with the resources and time need to reflect, strengthen their leadership skills, and acquire new skills that make more effective. Examples of ways that past fellows have used their awards include bachelor’s, master’s or doctorate degree acquisition; conference and convention attendance; networking; credential and business acumen development; the study of change strategies; capacity building to create and sustain coalitions; learning from successful organizations and initiatives; leadership programs; mentorships; and specific skills development (including professional coaching, conflict and change management, facilitation, and communication).
The fellowship can be used for a wide range of costs, including living expenses, tuition, conference registration, equipment, travel, and childcare. No portion of the funds can be directed to another person or organization.
Applications will be accepted from September 24 through October 24, 2019.
Eligible candidates must be at least twenty-four years old and a resident of Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, or one of the twenty-three Native nations that share the same geography for at least one continuous year prior to the application deadline.
See the Bush Foundation website for complete program guidelines, application instructions, and a list of the 2019 fellows.
