The Sexual Medicine Society of North America seeks to increase public awareness of healthy sexuality and sexual problems, foster the finest care for individuals suffering from sexual debility, and encourage scholarship and research in human sexuality.
To that end, the society is inviting applications for its Scholars in Sexuality Research Grants program. Through the program, grants of up to $5,000 for undergraduate, medical, or graduate school students and of up to $7,500 for resident or postdoctoral/fellows will be awarded in support of sexuality research broadly defined. Because sexual medicine is a multi-disciplinary field and sex impacts almost every aspect of human endeavor in some way, the society encourages applications from aspiring researchers representing diverse backgrounds, including but not limited to urology, psychology, psychiatry, gynecology, internal medicine, geriatrics, public health, physiology, genetics, molecular biology, social work, and law.
Eligible applicants include graduate or medical students, residents in graduate medical education training programs, and postdoctoral/post-residency fellows with a sponsoring institution (medical school, hospital, university). Research projects must be carried out within North America.
See the Sexual Medicine Society of North America website for complete program guidelines and application instructions.
