Founded in 1959, the Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham provides opportunities and resources to residents of Blount, Jefferson, St. Clair, Shelby, and Walker counties in Alabama, with the goal of inspiring and encouraging them to reach their full potential.
To that end, the foundation is inviting applications for the Cromwell Trust Scholarship. Through the program, grants of up to $5,000 will be awarded to individuals engaged in the creative arts sector, broadly defined. Previous awardees have included poets, musicians, art therapists, visual artists, dancers, and numerous other creative individuals. Scholarship funds can be used for training, education, and additional career development activities.
Preference will be given to performing arts candidates located in the greater Birmingham area, though all creative art disciplines and other regions of Alabama will be considered.
See the Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham for complete application guidelines and instructions.
