The Cornelia T. Bailey Foundation was established in 2007 to continue the philanthropic efforts of Mrs. Cornelia T. Bailey, who maintained a lifelong commitment to the arts, the environment, and education.
The foundation currently is seeking proposals from organizations located in Florida that are working to, or willing to provide, space and tutoring to eleventh- and twelfth-graders interested in taking the ACT and/ or SAT, or who require and would not otherwise have access to information regarding college acceptance and entrance exams. The foundation’s goal is to provide every student, regardless of family history or ability to pay, the opportunity to get into the best colleges and universities and to have access to mentors who can provide that guidance. The grants can be used for general operations, program delivery, or to start a new program that doesn’t currently exist and requires funding within an existing qualified organization.
Grants will range up to $25,000.
To be eligible, applicants must be tax exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, have an operating budget of at least $75,000, and have been in existence at least five years.
See the Cornelia T. Bailey Foundation website for complete program guidelines and application instructions.
