Impact Fairfield County (Impact FFC), a giving circle that engages women in local philanthropy, is inviting applications for its Impact FFC Core Mission Grant from nonprofits working to assist members of underserved populations and/or highlight unmet needs in Connecticut's Fairfield County. Through the program, one or two grants of $100,000 will be awarded to organizations looking to develop new programs; enhance, expand, or strengthen existing programs; and/or improve organizational capacity that advances their core mission.
Projects must have a total budget of at least $100,000, plan to use the full amount of the grant within twenty-four months, and show potential to have a significant impact on beneficiaries, the community, and.or the organization itself. Preference will be given to organizations able to clearly link the investment to the organization's core mission and demonstrate why this is the right time for it to receive an investment.
Grants will NOT be awarded for debt reduction, to cover an operating deficit, for interim or bridge funding, for endowment funding or scholarships, to individuals or private or community foundations, for medical research, for general capital campaigns unrelated to the organization's core mission, or for activities that are religious or partisan, legislative, or political in nature.
To be eligible for an Impact FFC Core Mission Grant, organizations must be classified as tax exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code; operate in, serve residents of, and fully expend funds in Fairfield County, Connecticut; target underserved populations; be in possession of three years of independently prepared audited financial statements; and be a new awardee (i.e., not a recipient of an Impact FFC $100,000 grant for a period of at least three years).
Letters of Inquiry will be accepted online beginning October 14 and are due by November 11. Recipient(s) will be determined by a vote of the circle's membership on May 5, 2021.
Potential applicants are encouraged to review eligibility requirements and an FAQ and attend an optional Applicant Information Session to be held virtually on September 16, from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. (RSVP required.)
