Gladys M. Smith and Jane McCarthy Funds Accepting Proposals From Nonprofits Serving Blind, Visually Impaired in Minnesota

The Gladys M. Smith and Jane McCarthy Funds of the Minneapolis Foundation is accepting applications from organizations serving Minnesotans who are blind or visually impaired. Grants will be awarded to provide general operating support or to support programs for organizations that teach independent living skills or provide other educational and recreational opportunities.

A maximum of $42,398 will be awarded through the program

To be eligible, applicants must be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Minnesota that serves the blind and visually impaired in Minnesota, or an organization with a fiscal sponsor that is a 501(c)(3), or a public institution that works with these communities. Applicants must also serve a diverse and inclusive population and have staff members who represent the community served.

The funds will not fund requests for religious purposes, capital requests, or re-granting or loan requests.
