First Foundation Seeks Applications From Hawaiian Nonprofits for Capacity-Building Grants and Services

Founded in 1990, First Foundation is a private financial firm that offers banking, estate planning, wealth management, philanthropic consulting, and trust services.

The foundation is seeking applications from Hawaii-based nonprofits for a capacity-building initiative designed to strengthen local charities through cash grants and in-kind consulting services.

Through its Supporting Our Communities program, the company will award cash grants of up to $5,000 and consulting services over two years to up to forty nonprofits located in Hawaii. Funds awarded must be used to support the recipient organization's capacity-building programs. Consulting services include support related to donor stewardship, board retreats, development planning, board building, design and development of critical policies and protocols, cash management, investment policies and best practices, gift planning, and fiduciary audits.

The program supports two categories of grants:

1) Organizational & Fundraising Capacity Grant: Approximately twenty nonprofit organizations will receive a cash grant combined with First Foundation's in-kind consulting services aimed at strengthening their organizational and fundraising capacity.

2) Community Development Grant: Approximately Twenty nonprofit organizations will receive a cash grant in support of their programs and services benefiting low- or moderate-income individuals and communities.
