The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics is accepting applications from individual math teachers for its Professional Development Scholarship Emphasizing the History of Mathematics grant program.
The program provides financial support toward the completion of credited course work in the history of mathematics or the design/implementation plan for a personal study program with a focus on some aspect of the history of mathematics; the creation and field-testing of appropriate classroom activities incorporating the history of mathematics; and the preparation and delivery of a professional development presentation to colleagues.
To be eligible, applicants must be a current (on or before April 21, 2017) full individual or E-Member of NCTM; have taught school mathematics for at least three years; and intend to remain in in the teaching profession. All activities must be completed by August 31, 2018.
