The San Antonio Area Foundation is accepting applications to its Responsive Grants program.
Through the program, grants are awarded on a biannual basis in the areas of animal services, arts and culture, children and youth, community-at-large, medicine and health care, and seniors. Grant amounts are determined on a project-by-project basis, so organizations should ask for the amount they need to fund their programs but keep in mind that the entire funding pool for the 2016 Annual Responsive Grants process was just over $2 million.
Entities eligible for a grant from the program include nonprofit organizations exempt from federal income tax under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, schools, churches, or governmental bodies that serve Bexar and the following surrounding counties: Frio, Atascosa, Karnes, Wilson, Guadalupe, Gonzales, Comal, Blanco, Kendall, Gillespie, Kerr, Bandera and Medina.
The foundation will be hosting informational meetings on Wednesday, January 4, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. and Thursday, January 5, 2017, at 9:00 a.m. Registration for the sessions is required.
See the SAAF website for complete program guidelines and application instructions.
