The Regional Arts Commission in St. Louis, Missouri, strives to lead, strengthen, and give voice to a creative community where every citizen can be proud to live, work, and play in a world-class region. The organization was founded in 1985 to promote, encourage, and foster the arts and cultural institutions in the city and county of St. Louis, and to contribute to the economic development of the area through a strong arts presence.
As part of this mission, RAC is accepting applications for its Artist Support Grant program, which provides direct funds to individual artists in support of projects, needs, and creative opportunities in all disciplines. Direct support enables diverse artists of all disciplines to advance their careers and complete creative projects. Grants are designed to be flexible and accessible and to encourage creativity, innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustained commitment to artistic work.
Grants of up to $3,000 can be used for (but are not limited to) equipment and materials, rental space, arts-related travel, conference fees, project completion, salaries, professional and artistic development, training, and other resources for individual artists working in any discipline.
To be eligible, applicants must be an artist living in St. Louis City or St. Louis County for at least a year (with documentation); be at least 19 years old; and have exhibited, performed, presented, and/or published artistic work in a public context within the last three years. In addition, applicants must not be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student.
See the RAC website for complete program guidelines and application instructions.
